Haydon Jones, Owner

I enjoy working with trades companies. The owners are self-starters and tend to be practical and down-to-earth. After successfully growing a trades company in the leadership role, I get the frustrations, difficulties and also how enjoyable it can be when the crew is happy and all working together to get results. It's satisfying to pass on the knowledge and tools I've developed over years and see real results when a client is open and willing to try new things.

My broad knowledge of business really helps in bringing proven techniques to trades companies and getting them performing beyond owners' expectations"

History

I have a Masters in International Business and have helped several companies scale, working for multinationals and local companies in New Zealand and Japan. I've worked in senior leadership positions in several businesses in a range of industries ranging from Materials Handling Equipment,  HVAC & Refrigeration, to Finance.

Over a three year period I led a local HVAC company from 24 employees to more than 50, commencing operations in a second location and more than doubling profits. The owner was able to step back from day-to-day operations with a strong management team in place to look after the business.

I live in Whangarei and have a son in his 20's who works in the conservation industry. I'm pretty keen on native plants and the bush and like to watch my natives grow in the garden. I enjoy camping, mountain biking, surfing and swimming. I guess I'm also a bit of a researcher and enjoy following business and technology developments.

I enjoy being able to pass on some of the lessons I've learned over the years and get pleasure from seeing business owners grow and get comfortable with the "business" side of running a trades company.
